& golden-mantled ground-squirrels, hoary marmot
- In the Rockies,
we also saw two young grizzlies (in the Opal Hills), a porcupine (at Upper
Twin Lake), a coyote, grey wolves and the ubiquitous Clark's nutcracker
- At Ucluelet,
on Vancouver Island, we also saw colonies of stellar & Californian sealions
and harbour seals, a single sea otter (still very rare), numerous bald eagles
and a humming-bird
